Mom – one of the things now synonymous with Mother’s Day to me are orchids. I think it’s become comical at this point how many orchids I’ve purchased through the years between Mother’s Day and your birthday. Every year trying to find a unique one that I haven’t given before…and every year having a harder and harder time remembering which ones I have given before. They really all start to look kind of similar after a while…although I know I don’t have the trained botanical eye that you have. So…since I’m not there this Mother’s Day to give you yet another orchid to put in your greenhouse, I thought I’d put together a little collage of pictures of the orchids I’ve seen while on my trip. They’re quite popular here in Asia. Every time I see one, I always think of you. So, ENJOY…
This was at a restaurant we went to in Cambodia. It’s a stone wall with a misting system and orchids hanging all over it. Looks like something that could be found in the living room one day.
This was an orchid farm that we came across. They had orchids hanging and growing on stumps all over the place.
I haven’t got a clue what any of these are…but they’re pretty…so there you go.
