The ministry we are staying with is working on building a safe birthing center for the pregnant women of the community. Our teams here get the priviledge of being a part of that by moving a massive mound of dirt from the area. So far, we've been at it for 6 days. Bucket, by bucket, the dirt is moved from the site to a disposal area.
It's so good to be doing some manual labor. I've been craving a service project. God gave me one, plus some. I love that we can be a part of giving the woman of this community a safe and healthy place to deliver their children. The woman usually deliver their children somewheer in their shack or on the dirt outside. Usually without any sort of medical attention. With this new facility, the women will have a comfortable place to give birth.
