“Mzungu! How are you?!”

No matter where we go that’s what we hear. I yell back “How are you?” to the kids who yell it and they either stare at me blankly or just say, “Fine.” I love the spirit here in Kenya. It’s so chill. Everyone is on his/her own clock and time just doesn’t seem to matter. I’m familiar with this because Haitians are the same way, so when Pastor Abraham showed up at least an hour late each day it didn’t phase me.
The family we are staying with is great. Josh and Ester have blessed us and served us so well. As I type this, they are busy washing our clothes. How crazy is that! This is the World Race! I’m supposed to be hunched over washing my own clothes in the river. Not this time. Our family wants to bless us in any way possible and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Funny story. We got to our host home at about 7:45 on Tuesday. After a 9 hour bus ride through the beautiful terrain of Kenya, we were all ready to relax. Our family knew that and prepared us this awesome feast. During dinner I look up at the tv and see Soy Tu Duena pop up on the screen. Apparently, Kenyans love Spanish telenovelas. Awesome! The best part is that the show has an English voice over, sort of like Kung Fu movies in English. So you can imagine how hilarious that is. Of course it would become an evening ritual of ours at 8:05pm every night.

We should start our ministry some time later today. From what we know, we’ll be working with Pastor Abraham’s church during prison ministry and preaching. We’ll also be helping out at an orphanage sometime soon. Oh and I told Pastor that I’ve done landscaping, so guess who he asked to help him design the land around the new church area. I’m so pumped for it though. Working outside is my jam. Gimme a shovel Pastor and let’s rock it.

Well that’s it for now. Mom, don’t worry I’m definitely not going to lose to much weight. Dad, I’m staying safe. Kenya is great. Much love everyone. More to come soon! Be Blessed!
