So about a week ago I figured it was time to start being radical about raising support. This is when I decided to give up sweets until I raise $6,000. It may not sound that hard to do, but if you know me, then you know this is basically like giving up my right arm. I’ll even admit that I lust for food. Ha, okay maybe not that intense, but pretty close. Making this even harder is that it’s Valentine’s time and Mardi Gras season. That means chocolate at every corner, King cake, those chalk tasting heart things with the words on them, brownies, cheesecake, etc! Man this is hard, but it’s going to motivate me to be proactive and get out there and tell people about what God has called me to do.

Along with sweets, i’m also fasting another worldly pleasure of mine, beer. I’ve tried to fast beer in the past. I’m a sucker for trying out a new brew, so it usually doesn’t last. My roomate Ian gave me this challenge, and he’s helping me out by being my accountibility buddy. This sacrifice is my way of letting God know that I trust His plan and have faith in Him that the money will come.

With that being said, I want to challenge my Squad mates to give up something they love to serve as a motivation to raise support. Also, to serve as an outward expression of your faith in His plan for your life. Write it down somewhere so that y’all will see it everyday. Make a support goal, and continue to fast until your goal is reached. Let me know how your progress is going.
