Do you remember the time you received your first Bible? Like many of you, I do not remember getting my first Bible.  I want to update you all on our fund raiser to buy Bibles for people in Malawi, Africa. And for these people, they most definitely will remember getting their first Bible.

On January 28th, we set off to the Malawi Bible Society with over a million Malawian Kwacha in our backpacks (1 U.S. dollar is 460 Kwacha). We felt like Mafia members with the stacks of cash we had stuffed in the most inconspicuous places of our bags. With the $2,691 that you all helped raise, we were able to buy $329 Bibles in the native language of Chichewa! This is more Bibles than we expected! the Malawi Bible Society decided to give us a discount bringing the price down to about $6.70 USD instead of $11.

We packed up the 14 boxes of Bibles and took them back to Pastor Ghent's house. Pastor Ghent's plan for the Bibles is to give every Pastor and leader in Bethel Chapel Mission a Bible, and then give 1 Bible to every family in the Bethel Chapel Mission Churches. That night, we had a church service to celebrate the giving of the Bibles. We gave out the first 17 Bibles. And needless to say, they were overjoyed. But rather than continue to try to tell you in words, here are a couple pictures from that day:

Lastly, I wanted to update you all on my fund raising status. At this point, I am almost 90% funded, which is amazing. The Lord is truly providing, and I am trusting Him to provide the rest. I will need about $1,700 by March 1st in order to stay on the field. If you feel led to give, you can click the "support me" tab on the left of your screen. Thank you all so much!
