I’m not too sure on how to start this blog, but what I want you to know is that the team I am with this month has an amazing opportunity for ministry.
This month we are in Nepal. We are also having “Manistry.” Which means, all of the men from my Squad and Fusion Squad(our brother squad) are coming together to bring the Kingdom here in Nepal. It’s a time where the guys can get away from the girls and a time where we can build deeper relationships with some Godly dudes, as well as reach the unreached.
In wanting to reach the unreached we believe God has put us in Nepal for a reason. We also know that Nepal doesn’t have very many missionaries and we know that most tourists are not Christian. (This is very evident because you can’t walk more than twenty feet without being asked if you want drugs.) Here in Nepal there are lots of Hindus and Buddhists. We want to reach far. We want to go to the places where no one likely has been. So. Here it is.
We 11 men have our hearts set to go trekking in the Himalayas. We will hike an average of 5-6 hours a day for 10 days, we will live in guest homes run by families during the night and there will be ample opportunity to minister to the locals and each other. Every night we will be in different places and we will be carrying the Gospel the whole way. Another important note is that as men of God this will be a great time to be with each other. We will have this time to grow as ambassadors of the Gospel.
This route, Langtang Valley, that we are looking at would cost each of the 11 people about 600 USD. This would cover all transportation, permits, a guide, food and water, and lodging. It’s all we would need. It’s a total 12 day adventure, but only 10 days of hiking. Collectively this is about 6500 USD. We know it is a lot, but we also know we have big God.
We really do believe that our God is a provider. We believe that if this is what He wants us to do that the money would be of no issue at all.
