We were in Vega Baja for only two weeks, but God does not really have a schedule or a time frame for how He wants to work. And He did a lot of work in those short two weeks. He could probably do what was accomplished in one day if He wanted.

A lot of growth, a lot of learning, and a lot of rejoicing occurred in month one of the race in Puerto Rico.

God is incredible! And when we got to the airport to leave Puerto Rico, the end of our first amazing month, I lay awake with Joanne, and Isa, and Breezy worshipping the Lord, rejoicing in Him, and thanking Him for this month.

It was an unexpected first month in Puerto Rico. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect though. I just wanted to surrender my life to the Lord and surrender I did. But it’s definitely a daily thing. And a choice you have to keep making. So as suggested by my good friend and sister, Liv, I wake up every morning and say, “I choose God today!” Over everything else I choose God today and every day.

It was unexpected in how God wanted to work. I learned very quickly that the ministry we are actually assigned to work with by Adventures may not be the only people God wants us to minister to. I learned that God has a much bigger plan for us and how He wants to work through us if we just surrender and move aside so He can work. A lot of times God doesn’t cater to our plans and what we think, so I encourage you reader to be open! Be flexible and let God “interrupt” you. Choose Him today.

I know there are hard and challenging times with the Lord ahead in this race, because that’s life, but I can’t help but think that if month one was this rewarding and fruitful then how much more will it be for the next month and the next month. I want to keep moving forward on this journey called the world race, but more importantly on this journey with Jesus.

All the wonderful people I had the privilege of meeting and working with in Vega Baja.

Until the next adventure,

Teej
