One day we had some down time and we decided that we wanted to go out and pray for people.

So we went out to the beach we held up a sign and waited. We ended up praying for over 100 people in under an hour.

Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

During that hour we realized that we were not only freeing people in prayer but we were being freed from caring what others thought of us. For as many people that stopped and let us pray for them… there were also many that laugh at us or gave us looks of discuss.

That  day was a reminder that it doesn’t matter what others thing about us all that matters is that each day we are called to go into the hard place and take up the cross and die to self each day.

“Take up your cross and follow Me” means being willing to die in order to follow Jesus. This is called “dying to self.” It’s a call to absolute surrender. After each time Jesus commanded cross bearing, He said, “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?” (Luke 9:24-25).
