THE ? Of Provision

 So I just finished reading
Max Lucado’s, In the Grip of Grace, which I highly recommend. At a point
where I was feeling very overwhelmed because of the last minute things I have
to do to prepare to leave the country for 11 months, I felt God pulling me in
and speaking to me through this book. He answered my doubts by showing me how
to meditate on his promises. I learned a little on how to listen to God when he
answers in a way you don’t expect…

                Did God
save us so we would fret?

              Would he
teach us to walk, just to watch us fall?

              Would he
be nailed to the cross for our sins and then disregard our prayers?

These questions have all caused me to think about what it
means to really believe that God takes care of us ALL of the time. Not just
when we are in our happy-go-lucky, “I love everybody” kinds of moods. He takes
care of us when we do things we are ashamed of and disobey his will.  It’s hard for me to remember sometimes that we
cannot fall out of his grip of grace even when we are the furthest from him.

 A part of the book
that stood out to me was when Lucado mentioned that “God is for me.” This phrase is so powerful.  It hit me when I read it, that I just needed
to be still and let it sink in a little. God is for me. Really? Wow! He truly is
and he always has been. He’s been guiding me through it all. He’s carried me
when I couldn’t walk and he’s ran beside me when I was on fire for Him. He has
held my tears and he has rejoiced in my joys. God is such a mighty God that I
cannot even come close to comprehend all he has already set in motion in my
lifetime. I believe God is taking care of me and I believe whole-heartedly that
I cannot fall beyond his love. So this next year of my life I want to live in
total abandonment to God’s will. To be open to transformations and open to
differences in culture that I may find unnerving. To be willing to step out and
step up as a mighty warrior; God’s mighty warrior who is under divine
protection. He has set the wheels in
motion, and I am in preparation to begin the battle.  So my question to you is how much do you
believe that God will take care of you?

“He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you
wherever you go.” Psalm 91:11

“So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. 17
Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created
all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. 18
He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all
creation, became his prized possession.” James 1:16-18
