So, as many of you know already, I am embarking on an amazing journey, beginning January, 2015, I will be going to 11 countries in 11 months. Right about now, I’ve gone through just about every emotion one can experience. Excitement, Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Nervousness, Doubt, Happiness, back to Excitement. But now, I’ve reached a new crossroads, I’m realizing that asking for money is hard to do. In order for me to go on the world race, I have to raise $16,000. This covers transportation, food, lodging, insurance, and any other resources I may need. How do I plan on going about this?? Fundraising of course, but mostly asking friends and family for money. My goal is to get at least 15 people to pledge monthly gifts of $100 or more. Because I’ll be gone for 11 months, I have deadlines set up throughout the year that I must meet in order to remain on the trip. Thus, a monthly pledge would definitely help me meet my goals. Here’s the timeline:

$3,500 – Due 9/27/2014 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
$7,500 – Due 12/18/2014 (2 weeks prior to your trip)
$11,000 – Due 4/1/2015 (End of 3 months on the field)
$15,500.00 + $742.60 (*Insurance) = $16,242.60 – Total Due 7/1/2015 (End of 6 months on the field)

Several of my friends have already offered to help out with fundraising , through bake sales, garage sales, photo shoots, and open mic nights. If you would like to donate items, or host a fundraising event to help meet my goals, please leave a message below.

‘Fundraising can be intimidating and most people don’t like to do it. For some reason having to ask for money makes us feel as if we have something to be embarrassed about. This is a tactic of the enemy and it is designed to keep you from stepping out in faith into what God has called you to. The reality is that God has called me and in the midst of that call He understands what needs to be provided. You can be sure that God will always provide what I need to accomplish the things He’s called me to do.’ ~ The World Race
