This is it. This is happening. This is the World Race
Has it hit me yet?  I’m really not sure. I don't think I know how to express my emotions I get so I am almost just expressionless.

As I sit here in Chicago, IL my perception of what is going on around me almost feels like its just training camp again.  I know I said my goodbyes and all, but I think my body and mind thinks I’ll be back to Fredericksburg in the morning instead of on a plane to Guatemala. (Sorry mom, not happening!)

I’ve been telling my teammates that I will probably have a true freak out moment when we arrive.  (So they should be well prepared.)  My teammates….oh man, I don’t think we could have conjured up a better group for each of us.  We all have traits and skills that fill in the blanks otherwise.  I really believe this group is God ordained to be together.

This is my team's reflection in the Cloud Gate (the bean) in Chicago.  I was so excited we got the time to see it!

So as we all leave, I ask you to pray for our safety and our health.  There is a guy on the race right now that has gotten really sick (malaria and typhoid).  Last night, we prayed for him and we found out this morning that his situation is serious, but not life threatening.  Him getting sick was probably a cause of him drinking unclean water, so we need prayer for discernment and caution going into some of these places.

Pray also that God will go before us.  We are fighting a battle.  It is a spiritual battle, but its still a battle none-the-less.  I keep going back to Joshua and how he didn’t move into battle unless he had clear direction from the Lord.  Pray that we follow God’s voice and don’t move unless He tells us to go on.

I am excited to get my last Starbucks for a while tonight while in Chicago. (Pumpkin Spice!!!!)  Tomorrow morning my whole squad will be ready to head out to the airport at 7:45am.  We will have a slight layover in Houston (I finally will make it to Texas even if only briefly) then board the flight to Guatemala City.  Our squad will stay the night at house in Guatemala City then head out to Santa Cruz Del Quiche where we will get to our home base with Agape in Action.

I’m not sure what my team’s exact ministry will be while there, but I am excited about working along side with each of them and getting to know their stories better.  I know that we will be great no matter what we will be doing.

Thank you so much for each and every one of your prayers, for your support, and for your encouragement.  We have made it!  And thank you for going on this journey with me.  I feel like I am not going to be the only one learning and growing from these experiences.

I still have $3,170.04 to raise for this trip.  If anyone would like to contribute, you may click on the "support me" link <— over there, choose to "support a world racer", put my name in the participant box, and continue to follow the instructions.
