Seems like yesterday I was getting picked up from the airport finishing my race, and now here I am again heading back out onto the field. This time is going to be so different. I am not just going to spread the Gospel and see what God has in store for me. I am responsible for 8 beautiful young women. And they are lovely, inside and out. I am walking into a new season of leadership, serving and experiencing God in fresh ways.

This past week has been incredible. We had so many great sessions in our training. God used so many people to speak His words clearly to us. It was even more rewarding to watch my girls start to get things from Him. Watching them worship, hearing them share what the Lord was speaking to them and seeing their precious hearts has been irreplaceable. Simply priceless.

Although, it wasn’t just for them that God called me to this team. There are things God has in store just for me. And it’s ME that He wants. Not a perfect leader, not someone that has it all together. He wants me – raw, broken, weak. Leading from a place of weakness is something so new to me. I have always thought I had to strive for perfection and really just “perform” as a leader. However, that is not at all what God wants. He has made that abundantly clear to me this week. He wants just me. The real me. Who has disappointments, issues, fears, weaknesses, insecurities…and the list goes on. To imagine that we serve a King who desires us in our most raw form is something my mind cannot comprehend. But He does. And it’s only through me coming from this place of complete dependence on Him that He can take me higher, further and deeper. These are simple truths, but they have made a huge impact on how I view myself, my relationship with God personally and my idea of leadership.

He just wants us to come, in our mess. He doesn’t want us to put on all the right things prior to walking into His presence. He actually desires us in our brokenness. WHAT a God! I hope this encourages you today, no matter what you’re going through, that there is a God who desperately wants an intimate relationship with a broken people. This is love.

Our hearts are prepared, our bags are packed and our Spanish is rough – but here we are, God. We are all in, just as we are! We are anxious to watch You turn a world upside down through some super unqualified yet chosen women!

Please continue to pray for us! You can follow me on this blog, and my team also has a blog if you want to keep up with us that way: www.peru.adventures.org
