What does a day in the life of a racer look like? Well, I am so glad you asked. Here's a glimpse into this crazy, and incredible journey I am on. Flexibility! What a lovely word! You have to be flexible to enjoy and get all God has for you in life and especially on the World Race. We have arrived to our second country, Bulgaria, which wasn't on our original route. We actually didn't even find out we were coming here until the night before! It's funny how we have this inner "need" to know EVERYTHING. Or at least I sure do. But God is teaching me really fast that all I really NEED to do is to trust Him – even down to the minute. He's got it!
The next day, we hopped on another bus headed to Bulgaria. Nearly 13 hours later, we arrived safely to Sofia, Bulgaria. We passed through 3 countries just to arrive here; Albania, Macedonia, and Kosovo. My passport is filling up fast and I couldn't be happier. We then said our goodbyes to the rest of the squad (except for the team we are paired with), and found our way to a McDonald's…how American of us. There we got connected with our contact and found a place to crash for the night.
Today, we met our ministry contact, Tony and got a sneak peak into some of the ministries we will be doing this month. I know, I know…you're dying to find out! We will have the honor and pleasure of serving in many different ways this month. A few: prison ministry, street evangelism, building churches/manual labor, art & music ministry, teaching English, preaching in churches, and working with teenagers at a youth camp! Holler back now y'all, I am SUPER pumped! I love the variety and getting to see God move in so many different ways.
It's going to be a wonderful month! I have high expectations for all that the Lord will do in us and through us the next few weeks. We are blessed with a beautiful & safe place to stay, we have plenty to eat and of course, we have a lovely community here in Bulgaria. I have nothing to complain about. God has been good to me, and always is.
We are paired with team Go'el this month. I am thrilled to bond and grow together with them. The 12 of us will be working together to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth and I am itching to get started!
There are photos up on facebook and instagram if you wanna check those out. As always, thank you for making this possible. God is moving and working in our lives and the lives of those around us. His Kingdom is expanding and His love is being spread.
You make the difference. I hope you feel His abundant love and never ending grace today.
