Over the past week I was able to get a lot of quiet
reflection time. Maybe quiet is
the wrong word to use. But here is
the setting; I was on a one-man road trip traveling to Tennessee and Kentucky. During this time I had some real
encounters with God.
doubt, lots of laughter and times of sadness (whatever may cause this). But, as I was thinking over these
things this image of a rearview mirror just burned into my retina and it was a
picture of my future, dreams, aspirations, longings, hopes, mistakes,
restoration and my past (and so much more). Lots of things over the past week have really got my soul
stirring (conversations, visits, driving, sleeping, etc.) and something as simple
as checking the rearview mirror laid this word on my heart. So here it is, I pray you find some meaning
and let it speak truth over you!

pictures in the rearview mirror
the occasional glance to see where I have been
losing sight of what is ahead
what has yet to BE
sunsets that radiate with HOPE
bewilderment into the RHYTHM of my soul
still lost with a resonating smile
the passing view
entrancing pitter patter of the rain falling
have lost sight of where I AM or who catches my gaze
to find the answers are never left behind
instead YET DISCOVERED
with memories and questions
meaning goodbye just a space LONGING to be filled
stories yet to be written and adventures anxious to be lived
to wait for the things that MATTER the MOST
nights have sized me up and left me AWESTRUCK and HUMBLE
of something GREATER in such a minuscule perspective
to make a move out into the vast UNKNOWN
more afraid to remain complacent
where YOU have remained
COMFORT not to be forfeited
a reflective presence YOU have become forefront
TRUTH into my being
transforming my rearview into PURPOSE
