Sometimes we want God to move a mountain, but his will is for us to climb it, and overcome it. We were made to be over comers in Christ.

We ask God to move a mountain because we fear it. We do not think we can conquer or overcome it. We think it is bigger than us so we simply ask God to remove the issue, or obstacle before us. But God asks us to climb it. He invites us to journey with him through it. To show us, to educate us. To prove that not only is he bigger than the mountain but so are we. In  his eyes there is nothing greater in all his creation than mankind. Therefor we must approach such “mountains” in life with the confidence, boldness and righteousness of the father as displayed through Jesus Christ.

Once we are on the other side of the mountain we will better understand Gods greatness. Furthermore we will understand that as his sons and daughters that no mountain is too  big, and no journey is too long. For we carry the authority of heaven everywhere we go. The authority to move mountains, and the authority to overcome all obstacles no matter how daunting. The authority to claim victory over heights greater than us. The authority to be strengthened after a long journey. The authority to come out of the wilderness with Joy,glory and victory.

This is  why sometimes…(and i use that word cautiously) God asks us to push through it. To press into the pain, hardship and climb that mountain that is before us. Because what would life be without a few mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, sea’s and deserts? It would be nothing more than a plain walk in a sightless plateau. Even though some parts are treacherous and dangerous this is what makes the whole journey adventerous and worthwhile. In the end God is greater than all that we face, good and bad. Thus we say the only thing to fear is fear itself. But in Christ Jesus we have the authority to cast even that aside. So let us walk forward, press on with great joy and pursue God daily through the valley’s desserts, and mountains. There will be times for us to rest, replenish, enjoy and celebrate in it all too. So let our hearts not be worried. For our God is greater and stronger. This is the living God that is with us always. So what mountain is too great or too strong? What sea is to treacherous, or valley too steep?

Therefore do not fear the mountain. For our God is greater and stronger. Our hearts are his dwelling place. He will not abandon us and is with us for every step of the journey we choose to invite him to. There is no obstacle bigger, no enemy stronger and no heart more persevering and loving than his. So I now say “give me my mountain” for I am a conquerer of all things in Christ Jesus.
