When we departed New York, we flew over to Hyderabad India with one layover in Doha Qatar. Other than being faced with the magnitude of what I had done, the flights were ok. We were traveling for like 17 hours, 16 of which were spent on a plane. I met a flight attendant named Mei that was from Malaysia and she seemed very happy that we would be going there later this year. She seemed so happy actually that she kept giving me a Vincent free stuff, nothing big, but the intentions were obvious.

Coincidently, I then met a flight attendant from South Africa, but didn’t have the chance to talk to her about it. This won’t mean anything to anyone except Dianna, but she actually reminded me of Ashley Tib. from Pappas. It was cool that the two flight attendants that I had just so happened to be from countries that I am going to.

To keep the story going, we then spent a few days in Hyderabad at a nun convent training for the next 11 months. I think the most training came on Adventure Day when they just let us loose in the city to find a place that none of the auto drivers had ever heard of. We ended up on a street that was lined with shops and street vendors, and spent several hours walking around. We ate street food and tried sugar can juice. The day definitely lived up to its name.

That was on Thursday January 6th, the same day we left the convent to spend the night at one of our contacts house in Jubilee Hills, India. That was just a layover until our bus showed up Friday night to take us 7 hours away to Ongole, India. Now it’s Saturday night and we are winding down getting ready for the next few weeks. We spent the day seeing the city and our ministry locations in order to be prepared to start working tomorrow. To read about what we will be doing for the rest of this month, check out my next blog posting. I hope this wasn’t too long, and thanks for everyone’s support.
