Hello!! Welcome to my blog J

What are you doing after you graduate? Is the question I’m most frequently asked these days.
The answer: I’m doing the World Race!

What is the World Race? Good Question!

It is an 11 month Christian mission trip that will take me around the world. 11 countries in 11 months; I leave in September.

What will you do there?
All sorts of stuff. Sharing the Gospel everywhere we go, teaching English at schools, hospital and orphanage work…. Doing all sorts of things to serve others. Most importantly: bringing God’s Kingdom to Earth.  Keep reading the blogs to find out more!

Who will you be working with?
The entire September 2010 WR Squad will be attending training camp together in July. After this 10 day camp in Georgia, teams of 7ish people will be assigned. You are on a team for the entire race, always with each other. In every country, teams work with a contact (local churches, organizations…) for the month.

Where are you going?
India, Nepal, Pioneer Central Aisa, Thailand, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda, Pioneer Africa, Romania,Ukraine, Pioneer Easter Europe. http://updates.theworldrace.org/?filename=september-2010-world-race-route

What does Pioneer mean?
As a team we pray and ask God where to go, and then we go there!

How much does the entire trip cost?
$14,300

How do you get the money?
Raise support through donations, sponsorships, and people partnering with me in missions. Ya’ll be getting a nice support letter very shortly from me J (or you could click that fun ‘support me!’ button over to your left)

How did you find out about the WR?
I did a Google search for “signs God wants you to go on a missions trip.”

True story. That was legit the word for word Google search I did (The summer of ’08 I ended up in Colorado after a Google search for ‘fun summer jobs’). My freshman year of college I felt like God was telling me to go on a missions trip but I didn’t really know where to look or what exactly he was talking about, so me being me I Googled it. And the very first link was for some site from AIM (adventures in missions, the umbrella for the WR) which lead me to the WR website and my jaw dropped, “this kind of thing even exists?!!!” So all throughout college I would read various blogs and always said ‘one day I will do the WR.” With graduation approaching, I thought I was grad school bound for sure but I kept looking at the WR website. My roommate told me “I am sick and tired of seeing you always on it. Just do it already. You apply or I will for you.” So, I applied & a few months later, here I am!

I will be updating this blog throughout the WR so that you too can be a part of this journey. If you’d like you can sign up (over to your left) to receive notices when this is updated J
