What is the World Race, you ask. The idea is to take a year of your life traveling around the globe partnering with local pastors and mission
s, ministering and caring for the lost, poor and forgotten. While living as Christ did seeking to serve, sleeping in tents or wherever people invite you to stay, all travel is done as cheaply as possible.
“Abandoning” home, job, family, for a life fully depending on God for everything, radically following Jesus and His example of how we should minister and care for one another, loving the unlovely, touching the poor and living on little.
The cost of this year long adventure is $13,000; however this doesn’t cover all the necessities such as travel to training in Atlanta, to the starting line and from the finish line of the race. It doesn’t cover the required travel insurance, passports, visas or spending money during the trip.
The total funding needed is about $18, 000. My team is beginning to raise funds now
, and we begin the trip December 31, 2007.
My heart’s desire is to share this opportunity, to partner with friends and family sharing the adventure every step of the way and through your prayers and financial support making a difference in the world. Together we can touch the hearts of the lost, help feed the hungry and share living water to those who are without hope.
I’m so excited about this opportunity! I thank God for leading me in this direction and trust he will continue to provide for my needs. Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you. I would consider it an extreme honor and blessing if you would partner with me in prayer and finances. I am especially asking for 15 people who will commit to pray for me each day starting now and until I return.
You may be in a position to financially contribute to my support. By my calculations if 90 people commit to $20 a month for 10 months that would meet my total goal of $18,000. or
40 people could commit to $45 a month for 10 months or 20 people $90 a month for 10 months. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me for one of these amounts.
