I am here
in Gainesville, GA for the next two weeks trying to glean as much as I can from
an amazing man of God: Seth Barnes.

Seth Barnes
started Adventures In Missions 20 years ago and now has bases around the world.
He and his ‘peeps’, which on a side note I heard him call all 14 of us his
peeps today!, send people all over the world spreading the word of God to
people who are in need of a hope.
The
following is a excerpt from his blog about their 20th anniversary : click HERE to read more of his blog
“What is
AIM anyway? I guess it’s always been a group of my friends who are committed to
using the vehicle of missions to disciple others. We love it when the God of
intimacy and power introduces himself to participants on our projects. We love
taking people out of their humdrum lives and placing them in slums populated by
orphans and widows who are starved for hope. We love watching their tears fall
as they realize that the God of the oppressed wants to walk through life with
them and to use them as his instruments.”
Project
Searchlight is yet another of Seth’s ventures for helping people realize the
dream God has placed in them. We are here for two weeks to hear from numerous
speakers who will help us figure out the next steps in accomplishing what God
has given us the desire to do.
Yesterday
we had a chance to hear from Seth about finding your voice. Finding out what
you are passionate about and then doing it. The key word here is ‘doing’. Stay tuned for more.
On a side
note, we will be blogging ever day for the next 2 weeks. A lot of the blogs
will be about what we are doing and what is next. Enjoy and feel free to comment often!
