“We are going to the hospital to pray for people, would you like to go?”

Of course I would like to go. This month was full of me realizing that God has given us so much power that we do not tap into. Most of the month I was frustrated because we were just sitting around doing what seemed like nothing when I could have been praying a lot of the time.

So I hopped in the back of the ‘buggie’ aka land rover and headed to the local hospital with about 8 other people.

We got to the hospital and were told that we could not be there because the administrator was not a Christian and did not want us there. We began praying and finally after a little discussion we were allowed to stay. So we sat and sang songs with patients and then prayed over them.

The most powerful moment for me was praying for a woman who recently had a heart attack and was rigid on one side of her body. She was also having breathing problems and was dealing with issues back home that were causing stress. I prayed for her and looked into her eyes and could literally see the depth of this woman. She was a beautiful woman who wanted more of life. I told her through 2 translators that she needed to cast her cares upon Jesus and to give Him all her worries and burdens. She looked deep into my eyes and it almost made me cry. While she may not have been physically healed that night I know that she received the Love of Christ that night.

The other moment that still remains with me was praying over a new baby who was incredibly hot. She was running a high fever and was visibly miserable. I took the child from the mother and held her close to my heart. She quieted down after a few seconds and just laid in my arms.  It broke my heart that in America this would be a simple fix with children’s Asprin but in rural Mozambique that is not a solution.

This one night at the hospital was the most memorable night of the month. While it was dark and dim it was lit inside by the love of Christ. It will stay with me for a very long time.

*This is a very random picture but I thought you would like to see it. The little girl sitting next to me is named Matelee. She was attached to me for the 2 days we were at the pastors house. Then we moved to a new location. Sad day 🙁
