At the end of the
week we were put into smaller teams. There are 8 teams and each team has 6-7
members. We were then asked to come up with a team name. Bekah came up with Manna and it just seemed to stick with
us. Manna came fresh each day to the Israelites. It would not last overnight
unless on the Sabbath. Each day our team wants to be filled by God so we can
pour ourselves out that day to who we come into contact with. Manna also means “What
is it?” We want to question ourselves each month as to what is it that God
wants us to do during that month in that country. The final deciding factor on
the name was the definition we found of Manna online. According
to (www.freedictionary.com),
manna means
spiritual nourishment. This is what we want to be to
each other and to the nations!

So here is Team Manna

Tim Dixon

My name is Tim Dixon and I am 22 years
old.  I am a man of simplicity.  I love to stay active and play
sports but I also enjoy reading and writing in my journal.  I cherish my
family…all of them.  I still live with my parents and consider them my
best friends.  I have very tight friends who I consider every bit as much
a part of my family as my parents. Click Here to learn more about Tim

Lets begin with the basics: I have an
older brother and sister, as well as a younger brother. My sister is married
and has 2 children. My older brother lives in
Minnesota and my younger brother is in Iraq serving in the Army. (Hoo-Ah). My parents are still happily
married and have been for almost 32 years. Click Here to learn more about Bekah

Sammie McCowan

I’m Sammie… born and raised in Wichita, KS.  I grew up
in a loving Christian family.  I have two loving and supportive
parents, an older brother, a younger sister, and an “adopted” sister
who is married with two adorable children. Click Here to learn more about Sammie

It all began in 1981, and the world would
never be the same. I grew up in eastern NC, living with my mom and grandparents
with no a/c, an outhouse, no cable TV and lots of other oddities, but I
wouldn’t trade it for the world. I was quite the tom boy and loved anything
that had to do with getting dirty, especially since my best friend was a boy.

 Amanda Hamilton

I grew up in a small town (that’s not so
small now) on the westside of
WashingtonState. I love the beauty and wonder of the Northwest, especially the
breath-taking views of
Mt.Rainier. I grew up knowing God and having a relationship with Him,
although I remember accepting Christ in my heart about age 5. I spent about a
year and half trying to figure out what to do with my post-college life. Every
door seemed to close for me and it was quite frustrating. I ended up moving
‘home’ in obedience to God. Click Here to learn more about Amanda.

Well, my name is Nathan Chaplin and I was
born and raised in
Winfield, Iowa (a small town in SE Iowa aprox. 1 mile x 1 1/2 miles).  I was a cradle Christian who
fell away a little after HS.  But I’m back with a blaze teaching Sunday
School, going on mission trips, and plotting to become a preacher after this
trip (and after
BibleCollege).  I have a passion to teach truth with no holds
barred, pointing out that God’s ideal church would be filled with
alcoholics, druggies, criminals and teen mothers worshiping along side of
loving Christians who truely have a heart for the lost. Click Here to learn more
