Things to remeber from my month in Honduras.

Mangos- Eating the richest tasting mangos with friends for 25 cents each.

Niome- She is my Honduras Mama. Talk about a women who loves! I started to get to know this beautiful women by cooking dinner with her, and our love for each other grew from there. She was constantly speaking the truth of who we are in Christ. She is one of the best hug givers I know too!

Gospel- Sharing the gospel and making bracelets with 100 students on my Birthday!

Karen- Having a beautiful friendship with a lady who doesn’t speak or hear, but still somehow having a real connection with her by God’s grace.

Pick Axe- Taking a pick axe to a pile of dirt while sharing with each other all the things that we are thankful for.

Zumba- Getting our groove on by dancing with the American and Honduran ladies every afternoon.

Tony- Hearing all that God is doing through Tony at Zion’s Gate and the huge impact God is making through this ministry not only in the people that are staying here but also in the surrounding community.

Adriana- Asking a 10 year old girl at Liberty Bilingual School why she loves Jesus and hearing her say, “ I love Him because he came down here to earth to show us how to love.”

Tents- Falling asleep in my own little home by myself. Yes, I surely love people but I can’t tell you how nice it is to get “away” for just a little bit even if it is just to sleep.

Water park- Going with the kids to a water park for their first time. Seeing Karen fearlessly flying down a water side and me having a little panic attack in realizing she can’t swim.

Balloons- waving signs and balloons along the side of the road worshiping Jesus and getting to pray for people.

Wading- Tosh and I hiking with some of the Zion Gate boys to the river and then having to wade in the water with huge rock walls on both sides. The water rose up to our chest. It was beautiful!

Bibles- To get into the gated hospital we had to show them our Bibles! Now there is a twist to things 🙂

Dump- Seeing people, hundreds of vultures, cows, and dogs all picking through a land fill. This is these people’s job day in and day out. Some even live on top of the smoggy stench filled mountain with their children. We got to feed them food and pray for them. But it is something words and pictures can’t truly describe.

It was a good month…thanks God!
