As I was walking down to lunch, Johannah called my name to come back to the room. With smiles on their faces they handed me a bag full of goodies (cookies, beef chips, coconut marshmallows, liquorish, and mint chocolate) and a sweet note.
The treat they gave me. Sorry I could not turn the pic the correct way.
Not only is this one of my love languages, but the fact that they spent their money and took the time to write me a note made me feel so incredibly loved. And I did nothing!!! God showed me so much grace and love through these ladies.
The 8 sweet ladies I got to work with
During the lunch times I got to hang out with them and enjoy some hillarious conversations. They loved to feed me their food (I never complained about that!) and just laugh.
A chicken foot I ate. (Yes, it was gross. Tasted like crunchy skin)
The last full day, I asked God if I could have a conversation about Him with one of the ladies. He gave me one!!! I got to talk with Evelyn about Him, and it was so great! She had the best questions about purpose in life, burdens, suffering, and how to help others!
It was neat to see how God had all of us placed in areas that we could all grow and really help out in. Some helped out with devotions, POP kids, medical assistance, cooking for students and soup kitchen, counseling, and grading papers. It was so amazing to see my teammates use the strengths God has given them. It has also been a blessing to be with Redeeming Dust this month, get to know them better, and be challenged by them! Again, it is sad to leave, but God has been so gracious about it all.
Check out these clips that I put on Youtube of some lunch conversations. Why do Africans eat chicken tongues? See how to add hair to your head! 🙂
