This is not really related to the WR but an encouraging
story of something that happened a few days ago. I hope that it brings a smile
to your face from the unique ways God provides in our lives.
Earlier this summer when I was leaving from dog sitting, I
hopped into my car, but my little Volkswagen Beetle was not wanting to hop. The
shift would not move from park to drive. So after my mom came to rescue me we
got it to the auto shop and they said the transition needed to be replaced and
would cost $2,500…..gross! (Since my car is old it would not be worth investing
this kind of money into it) This made my heart sad. So for the next month my
little Bug sat in the drive way waiting for me to decide what I should do. We took it on runs a few miles away to see if
it would work and it did.
But the testing did not last long. One day I thought I would
brave it and go grocery shopping for a friend. My little Bug did not like this
idea and decided to lock in park once I was 30 minutes away from home.
So what do I do when I am in trouble? Call my father of
course! First, my heavenly Dad. So I prayed, “God, please please heal my Bug,
help it run. You know what is wrong. Please give me wisdom of what you want me
to do!� So next I called my Dad…he always has something up his sleeve too.
“Well Teresa, try swaying back and forth.� This was a sight
to be seen.
“Nope, not doing anything�
“Okay, try getting out and pushing the car back and forth.�
“Nothing�
“Hum, I will do
research and call you back�
About 10 minutes later my Dad called laughing and said,
“Okay, I have something interesting for you to try. I found it on the internet. It is called the
Hokey-Pokey Bug Dance.
“Haha, ok, sweet. I am ready to dance!�
So I did nines steps that a girl found worked who had a Bug
with the same problem. And by golly it worked!!! Praise God!! I would never
have thought that doing a little “dance� would get my Bug to work, but what a
better way to get it to run (God sure knows how to make His girl smile)!
The story gets better!
Apparently my dad also found that Bugs that have these ticks
have a recall on them. So if your Buggy has this little problem of not wanting
to move out of park the dealership will fix it. So not only did God fix my car
with a dance, but fixed it for free at the car dealer so I don’t have to do the
“dance� every time I start the car! How crazy amazing is that! I just love our
God!
I am excited to see more amazing ways God provides as I hop
overseas and watch in amazement as He lets me be a part of His unpredictable
and unbelievable ways.
