I know you’ve all been waiting for an update, and I apologize for the delay! Our wifi time here in Albania is pretty sporadic. If we’re friends on Facebook you probably know that our travel experience to get here went quite longer than planned. We’ve only been at our ministry site for a week and God is working in amazing ways.
Our time in Atlanta for launch lasted 4 days. We spent those 4 days training for our leadership roles, going through safety training and spending time together before we left the country. On Sunday afternoon our squad met in the Atlanta Airport, checked in our bags and waited for our 8-hour flight to Amsterdam. My bag weighed in at exactly 50 lbs….the maximum weight for the airline. Yes, it’s really heavy, but, yes, I can carry it! 🙂
Our layover was only a couple hours and soon we were in Istanbul. Because we switched our first stop to Albania so late, our tickets to Turkey could not be returned. We spent the next 48 hours on a bus, passing through Turkey, Greece and Macedonia before we finally made it to Albania. Our driver got lost a number of times on the way, but God blessed our time and the sites we saw made it so worth it. The most beautiful scenery was seen while we were trying to find our way.
After 53 hours of travel, we made it to our ministry site. This month we are working at a kids summer camp. The kids are between the ages of 9 and 15. Almost no one speaks English, but it’s amazing how God can form relationships through just a smile. The kids are beautiful, fun and full of life.
To our surprise, we do NOT have to stay in our tents this month!!! The camp here is really nice, and for the entire month all 55 of us have our own bed. We have running water and electricity. The showers even get hot every now and then. Although there is no wifi at the camp, there are plenty of shops down the road that have it.
We have 2 weeks left in Albania and I’m so excited to see God move in the rest of our time here. Now what you’ve all been waiting for…..some pictures of our ministry location this month!! 🙂

There are more to come, but our internet connection wouldn't let me upload any more at this time. Keep an eye out for more photos the next week or so.
Love you all!
