“ Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’
And I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’ ” Isaiah 6:8

It is official! God called, I prayed, God called again, I prayed some more, God called loudly, I said, "Wow, for real?! Yes, send me!"

The thing is, I heard God calling me ages ago, but for some reason I thought it couldn't be true. I thought it would be too good to be true that God's calling would be something I actually enjoyed….in fact something I had always considered a dream of mine, a long standing passion. And now….this makes me laugh. Isn't God the one who knit me together in the beginning? Isn't he the one who pressed those passions into my very being? Why would he use me for anything else BUT the very things he gave me passions for? It just all seemed too good to be true…..but then again isn't it all? The very concept of Jesus himself is too good to be true.

  • That NOTHING I do will ever seperate me from the love that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39)
  • That Jesus suffered and carried EVERY sin and burden this world would ever know…for me, for YOU (1 Peter 2:24)
  • That our salvation comes from grace alone….it's all Him and none of me. (Thank God) (John 3:16-17)

The concept of "it's too good to be true" is at the very core of Jesus. Our Father is too good to be true. His unconditional love is too good to be true. Why did I think that God wouldn't call me into something too good to be true? But Praise God, he has! And don't get me wrong, this journey is going to be just as difficult as it is wonderful. It won't be glamorous. It's going to be real, tough and trying. God will push me far beyond my comfort zone…..but isn't that the beauty of it all? "He must become greater, I must become less." (John 3:30)

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

I am certain of God’s faithfulness and know that where He calls He provides. If you wish to partner with me in this ministry there are a couple ways you can support me:

A) Above all else, please lift up my team and I in prayer. Please pray for God’s provisions, as well as safety on the field, spiritual growth, and for God’s glory to be shown in all we do.

B) I also ask that you please prayerfully consider partnering with me financially. In order to fund this journey, I need to raise $15,500. These funds will cover all travel, food and lodging expenses for the year on the field. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or monthly donation. For the next 10 months, if 20 people pledged $50 per month, and 22 people pledged $25 per month, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip.

If you feel you would like to support me financially, there are two ways you can do this:

1) Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of this page, and complete your donation as instructed. (There are 5% credit card and 3% bank draft fees associated with online payments that will be deducted from the amount given).

2) Mail a check to the address below. Be sure to make it out to Adventures in Missions and include my full name and route info in the memo line to ensure the money goes into my account. (ie. Tennyson DeWitt July '13 Route 2)
