Laura shared her experiences- hard to ask for money had a job and felt like asking people for money is really hard. Came from a family that was very independent
It helped to see it biblically. Some are called to stay in job and have the job in sending other to the nations and it is important to let them do that. Can see that in Pauls writings. 2 Corth Church giving to missions you need to give them a chance to give. It is important to tell them what you are doing so you can give them the opportunity to join you in missions. Providing them a missions opportunity.

Hard time having people respond. She feels she has done what she can do and is waiting. Done follow up and support letters. Discouraging on people responding.

Feels it will get better when he gets home but it is hard.

Some suggestions
send out email or let supporters know the goals AIM has set.
Prayer partners that are involved thanking them.

Struggling or not put it in your blog and email letting your supporters know and get in touch regular news letter format. They know you need money let them know where you are at. This is how much I need tell them, remind them, get your name out there. Make postcards as prayer reminders. Magnets, braclets etc. reminders.
Not so online friendly supporters. Get a news letter out to the church to send or a close friend or family member.

Bigger church… try Sunday school or bulletin. Talk to the church get them on board. Not doing it to get money its about vision and mobilization. I want you to know what the Lord is doing.

Small groups- going to small groups to share ask the group or woman’s ministry vice versa. Share with junior high anyone that wants to hear!!!

Visit childrens ministry, coin drive etc.

Presentation and putting together appointments and challenging them to give. Making it more personal. Getting to know your supporters.

Friend hosted a dinner for some people and invited them over to the house.

Hosting events anything with people party. Silent Auction and worship. Had random people lead worship. Tell them why you are hosting the event.
Look for business places that will help: ccpizza and sonic family restraunts and do host stuff and tell them what you are doing
Gas stations will let you do it for tips
Possible walmart carwash with match your amount.
Tell business about tax right off.
Advertising for your business and raise money for the trip.
Garage Sales! Sell it why not?! Don’t have to pay for storage;-))
See if people want to donate stuff for the Garage sale

Jenn suggest as a support raiser to bike across America with pictures of orphanes on the back of the bike(thanks Laura) to visit me. Just having some fun;-))
