Last night at my college ministry leadership meeting our college pastor shared with us that he has been laid off. The church told him that there was no room in the budget for him or the college ministry. The college pastor has been there 7 years, he was my youth pastor when we were at that age. They hired a guy back in the spring who has been going from ministry to ministry firing people he does not believe are good enough, many times without the senior pastor’s knowledge or the elders knowledge. Needless to say many students are angry and don’t know what to do now. God was doing some amazing things through the college ministry and this seems like an attack rather than a prayed over decision.
Please pray for me and the students as we begin confronting the Pastoral staff and elders on this issue. May we be slow to anger and patient in understanding why they have decided to do this.
