As you have read through the January team’s blogs, you may have heard them speak of a “Ministry Fund.” We want to explain this fund a little more to you.

We have a small fund to help with scholarships, meeting needs you see along the way, hiring extra translators, etc. People donate to this fund by clicking “Support Us” on the main WR page and then typing “World Race Ministry” in the donation information box at the top. If you raise above your goal [including extra expenses like reimbursements or unexpected costs], that money rolls over into the Ministry Fund. For this reason, when you reach your goal, you should not tell your donors to stop giving.

Part of the fund is for scholarships for Racers. Hanna M has these applications. Scholarships are only available
after you make it to the field and are contingent upon demonstrated effort in support raising. Meaning, you have to raise enough support to get on the field and once you are on the field you have to continue making large efforts to raise support from home. If those two things happen and you still do not have the funds, you can apply for a scholarship.

The other part of the fund is for needs that arise while you are on the field. If your team sees a need and wants to help, send an e-mail with an explanation of the ministry, the cost and the reason you want to help to [email protected]. It takes about a week to process these requests, so allow ample time for that. You must receive approval from AIM before spending any money from this fund.
