some last minute packing info from heather:
hey pam,
make sure you bring clothes you love. you don’t need travel pants like north face or columbia brand. its hot here so bring light weight clothes. if you wear make up normally bring it. you will get sick of looking like a stereo typical missionary. only bring one bottle of shampoo and conditioner and stuff like that b/c you can buy it. toiletries account for most of your weight. Bring a lot of the kind of deoderant that you like b/c they only have roll on here. Bring safety pins. Bring books to read. Make sure you like your sleeping bag and pad. bring dvds to watch on a computer. you will want them. bring a skype headset. travel speakers are good to have if you want to carry them. make sure you have a pillow case b/c your pillow will get nasty. if you can handle the space it takes up, a full size pillow is wonderful! don’t worry about all the books they gave us to read. none of us have them or have used them unless you just want to read them. bring at least 2 if not more jump drives. you will use them a lot. you will want a journal and definitely a camera. you need bug spray here in thailand. Don’t bring a lot of malaria pills, we havn’t had to take them yet! you will want a nalgene bottle or one like that. i have two and they have come in handy. I don’t know what your pack is like, but we don’t carry it much. a rolling pack that has lots of room and can convert to a carrying pack would be great. you will need a day pack for short trips. bring a laundry bag for dirty laundry. dental floss is hard to find. if i think of anything else i will try to email you before sat. take care girl. i love ya and will see ya soon!
