Need help finding the right equipment?

If anyone is like me and has NO IDEA what kind of equipment is good and what’s not (and spending way too much time looking that stuff up) the March issue of
Backpacker magazine has the 2007 Gear Guide in it. It’s pretty helpful! Anyways, hope this helps….
