I have been getting the question, “What are you doing after you graduate?” a lot lately. Answering this question has been exciting for me, and I can’t wait to share it with you now! Originally, I planned to go straight to graduate school and get my masters in Social Work, but I felt God continuously calling me elsewhere. That elsewhere turned out to be the World Race, an 11 month long mission trip that I found out about my freshman year of college at NWU. I knew I would go at some point, I just wasn’t sure when the timing would be right. I know without certainty that God is saying now. To go before graduate school and starting a career, to take this time to really discover myself in Christ and what He is calling me to in my future. I will graduate in May with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work, and the plan is to leave in August for Route 3 of the World Race. Tentatively going to Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize with 50 others on my team.
The World Race is an 11 month long Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women, men, and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many. His hope and love being something I know to be true and has gotten me through so much of my life’s hardships.
I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure the most important thing I need from you is prayer. Another one of my struggles is getting the money to go. Quite frankly the thought of needing to raise this much scares me. I know I am not able to do it alone, but I trust that with God on my team it can be done. In order to leave fully funded in August, I need to raise $17,361. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, I would be grateful of your support. Whether that is financially, through prayer, or both. Please prayerfully consider joining me in this journey. If you feel led to give financially there are several ways to do so and all donations are tax deductible. It can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation.
