So you're anxiously waiting to meet my team, I know, I know, BUT unfortunately you're going to have to wait a bit longer to meet the 5 beautiful women on my team because I want to share a revelation I received while doing my devotion earlier today.

The Lord took took me to Exodus Chapter 35 and 36. God wanted the Israelites to build him a tabernacle. (tabernacle – a portable tent that serves as a meeting place between God and men). In order to build this tabernacle lots of resources were needed such as gold, silver, onyx stones, and a whole lot of other things. Moses held a meeting and asked the community to bring an offering to the Lord. Once the meeting was adjourned people went back to their homes and the bible says…

35:21 "All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought all their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle…"

The men were like "yo I got mad craftsmanship skills" and the ladies are like "my hands are so delicate and soft they were made to sew." Excuse the narration, but this is how the bible works in my head. It's called role-playingEveryone was so eager and willing to give to the Lord's cause that they also brought in all the gold, silver and acacia wood they had. Everyday people kept giving additional gifts that at one point the craftsman went back to Moses and said…

36: 5 "The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the Lord has commanded us to do!"

This really wrecked me and I had an aha moment. Getting the funds for my mission trip is not about me or how well I give a presentation or how eloquent I speak, it all boils down to God. So now that doesn't mean I throw my hands up in the air and say whelp "God, go ahead and stir hearts"…that would be foolish but I have a greater appreciation and better perspective about my fundraising agenda. God is the ultimate person that can make it all happen. My prayer is that as you read this post, God will stir your heart to help support me in this journey, not because I'm asking but because deep in your heart you are moved by my passion for this mission and REALLY want to support.

P.S. This morning after my devotion I had someone stop by my apartment to hand me a $500 check. Now that's a whole lot of STIRRING ๐Ÿ™‚
