Hey everybody!
So the usually the first question, (after confirming that this is not the Amazing Race), is "what countries are you going to?", so here are the 11 countries I will be serving in over the course of my route!
China
South Korea
Thailand
Cambodia
Malaysia
Estonia
Latvia
Lithuania
Kenya
Rwanda
Uganda
So another questions is "which country are you most excited for?"
That one is much more difficult to answer, especially since I've never been out of the country besides Mexico when I was twelve, so I don't really know what to expect at all.
I'm excited for them all, obviously, as I know the Lord is going to do amazing things no matter how "exciting" the country, but there are few I'm a little more anxious for. I'm really excited for them all for different reasons.
I'm very excited for China and Malaysia because of the "closed country" aspect, because (even though it's terrible, and I'm not making light of the situation at all) I find it very interesting that there are still countries that make things like Christianity illegal, to the point of the death penalty in some places. And even more fascinating that people make it work and form underground churches and have to grab their Bibles and just run. So I'm very excited to see God's presence there.
I'm excited for Thaliand because of how much I've heard and read on other Racers' blogs that the people there just need to be loved so badly, especially the women caught in the sex trade there, so I'm ready to shower people with love there especially.
I'm excited for the European countries (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) because I've been told it's a very legalistic, Roman Catholic type of environment there. And I have a real heart for people who "know" Jesus but are so separated from Him because all they know how to do is "follow the rules" as opposed to finding joy in the Lord's commands (because they are for our good) and having a personal relationship with Him. It just breaks my heart when I have a Catholic camper who doesn't understand that they can talk to Jesus or that we are saved by grace through faith and not by works. So I'm very excited to get to know people there and see it for myself.
I'm excited for Africa because of the lifestyle. It's obviously nothing like America, as far as wealth and posessions go, and I'm very ready to be away from all the privelage and American way of living for a while. Don't get me wrong- I'm extremely blessed and so so grateful for everything God has given me and my family and I don't mean to say that this way of living is wrong or anything like that. I only mean that living in America, and living with these blessings, does come with it's own set of challenges and I'm excited to be challenged in other ways.
So there it is! If you want to know more just comment or email me, or even call (405)-613-9001. That's my cell so feel free to call whenever if you just want to chat about things or have any questions, I'd love to answer them!
