Hi, my name is Taylor Long.
I live in a tiny remote town in the Colorado Rockies. I went to college at WSCU and earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts. Currently Im working at our towns only bank and Im coaching High School Guys Varsity Basketball. Soon I was also be teaching Bachata Rueda and Salsa dance classes. More recently our town has started up Young Life, so thats been a part of my life here as well. Originally, Im from San Antonio, Texas where most of my family still is, and moved up to Colorado in 2007 during high school. I moved up here with my family when my dad got hired by a seasonal christian challenge camp.
I have a broad spectrum of interests, which is both blessing and not, but it keeps life interesting and Im always learning something new. Primarily my interests encompass art, sports, reading, hiking, running…pretty much anything physically and mentally challenging. I also really like to be involved in town events and local happenings. In recent years my heart has really opened up to community. After substitute teaching for about 6 months, I felt a calling and am seriously considering pursuing teaching for my future career.
God always presents us with trials and difficulties so we can continue to grow and learn. Most of my difficulties have been on the inside, so I tend to be a very introspective person. My life has been a continuous journey of searching truth and often learning the hard way. It was more recently that I’ve learned what I truly believe in and where my heart has been called to; it has brought so many difficulties to light. I want to go on the World Race Trip to really push myself and what I believe, travel, benevolently help the needy and those who can give nothing back, be part of the positive change in the world, and to develop and bring back the gifts God has given me in this life to share with others.
