On October 2nd of this coming fall, 2016, I will stuff my life into a backpack, get on a plane with a bunch of people with whom I barley know, and travel to parts of the world I’ve only ever dreamed of going too. India, Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland, Argentina,Chile, Bolivia, and finally finishing in Peru.
I spent the last 4 years living in Oklahoma City, working with inner-city youth with Youth America, through Church of The Harvest where I did a 2 year internship. My work was very rewarding and challenging at times, but I loved it. However, I knew there was something more God wanted more for me.
I had been thinking about the World Race for awhile but, the timing never seemed right. God was leading me to things that kept me in Oklahoma, so I stayed there for 2 more years past my internship. Then in December of 2014, after my grandma was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, she became very ill and was hospitalized, I decided it was time to move home and be near my family.
After I moved home I really started feeling that God was really leading me more and more toward the World Race. So I started really praying about it and researching. One thing that has always held me back in the past, and is still worrying me is the money. But I know where God leads, he provides. I know God would not lead me somewhere that He is not going to provide for me to go on this mission.
So on Christmas Eve, I sat my parents and my sister down and told them I had made a decision to go on the race. Although my parents are scared, they support me 100%.
And now my journey begins. I hope you all follow along with me on this journey around the world, spreading God’s love and God’s word. If you feel drawn to support me financially, click the support link above, and I would be very grateful, or if you can’t, please pray for me and my squad through our journey.
I will also be posting video blogs and posting many pictures. But until I leave in Oct, I will update frequently.
Thank you all and God Bless
.
