On top of having an awesome month of ministry in Malaysia, month 8 was also a turning point for our team.

We were having some trouble connecting for the past 3 months and just couldn’t figure out why.

It definitely wasn’t for a lack of trying, that’s for sure.
We had countless conversations together and would try to put our finger on the root of the issue, but we were just never successful.

God knew we needed something different to help bring us together.
Turns out that Ask the Lord ministry was just what we needed.

(You can read about the ministry we did in my last blog.)

With the freedom to choose how to spend our days we all got much needed time alone and were able to choose to spend time together.
That was huge.
We had been forced into small spaces together for extended amounts of time without much choice.

In Malaysia we bought into our team and chose each other for what felt like the first time.
We were able to bond over the same ministry interests and talking about our days just following our Father around Kuala Lumpur.
Our team times were fruitful and we started having fun together.

Malaysia wasn’t an altogether perfect month by any means. For example, I wanted to go home in Malaysia more than I ever have. But through that experience God opened up conversations that needed to happen in order for our team to become an actual team.

Even though we got to a really awesome place in Malaysia, God had other plans for our team.

At the end of the month we had some unfortunate changes to our team. We had one teammate go home and one who was transferred to another team. The changes were hard on all of us. We had finally figured out how to be a good team and unwanted change came crashing down around us.

No one can prepare you for these kind of changes. They come hard and fast, but they also come with a lot of good lessons learned.

I’m learning to look to my Father for consistency instead of the people around me.
I’m finding my security in Him.
I’m trusting Him with putting the right people to walk with me in this journey.

Team changes suck. That’s just pure honesty.

But my God is still good and He is still preparing the way for each of us.

Changes aren’t done for our team. Another team member went home at the end of Guatemala and we now have a new member to our team, Lupita!

Throughout all of this change I am keeping my eyes open for more lessons that God is wanting to teach me and my teammates.

I only have 2 more months of this crazy adventure with God and I’m not going to throw it away by being mad at God for mixing things up. I’m just going to trust His purpose and have full confidence that He is putting exactly the right people next to me on this journey.
