HI!

I’ve had many of you ask what the World Race is and what I will be doing, so I wanted to spell it out in my first blog post.

On the World Race I will be going to 11 countries in 11 months, where I will spend a month in each country. I am on the September 2015 Route 5 Squad. We will be going to these countries in order: *unless our route changes, which is very possible

Uganda
Rwanda
Ethiopia
India
Nepal
Malaysia
Thailand
Cambodia
Guatemala
Honduras
Nicaragua

In each of these countries, our Squad of about 40-50 people will separate into teams of about 5-8 people. Each team will then go to their different ministry sites for the entire month and we will reconnect with the Squad when it is time to travel to the next country.

Inside each country, our ministry will look something like: helping sex-trafficking victims, visiting patients in the hospital, knocking on people’s doors to tell them about Christ, construction work and so much more. Throughout this year, I will be in constant community with the same group of awesome people 24/7. These people will be my rock, my shoulder to cry on, the iron that sharpens me and a constant source of giggles. We will come out of this journey as a family.

As much as this is a mission trip, this is also a discipleship training program. I will come out this year abroad closer to Christ than I have ever been before. And that my friends, is why I am doing this. My only desire is to know Christ more and to make Him known.

I am so excited to begin this new journey as a Racer! I know God is going to stretch me far beyond what I have ever thought possible and I know that this will be one of the hardest things I have done in my entire life. With that being said, I am expecting the unexpected, and I couldn’t be more elated!
