We go to an organized service that is over in exactly one
hour on Sunday, watch our P’s & Q’s and forget to invite the Holy Spirit in
and call that a Christian life?
This was me before I left, and in many ways very much still is me.

I thank God that he handpicked me to see something else for
a year.  I get to sit in a three
hour service and see God work in His time, I get to see a woman living in the
slums full of life because she has only God, I get to be stripped of everything
I thought (some things still think, working on those) was important and depend
only on God.  You see, this
wouldn’t be possible in the states, no matter what way you cut it…I had to
much to default on.

In so many ways our religion is dead back home.  Although I have only traveled to three countries and in no way do I think I have it figured out, I do know I see a
different faith now, a faith being led by the Holy Spirit in ways I never
knew.  It’s not the relationship of
a pastor that I’m trying to live off of; it’s a faith between one human
and his/her creator…plain and simple!
No fluff stuff added.

I know overseas missions is not for everyone, but the only
thing I can share right now is that I am seeing God work in ways I didn’t know
was possible back home.  Don’t get
me wrong, I love the US and I love living there and look forward to coming back.  But, what I love most is that by the grace of God alone I
will be able to return home and bring just an ounce of this life back to share
with you all.  We have many
blessings back home, but with those come many hindrances.  Although a bold prayer, I pray that God
would take those hindrances away from the US and allow them to rely solely on
Him…allow the Holy Spirit to work in our EVERY MOMENT.  I don’t want our life to only be about
the moments we strategically plan (if any) for the Holy Spirit to come and then
get mad when He doesn’t show up like we envisioned.

I love you all and miss you much!  I continue to keep you in my prayers and give thanks to God
for all of you in my life. XOXOXOXOX
