Today was our day off in unison with Nick’s birthday, so
Team B.L.I.N.G and Team Koinonia went hiking up Mt. Kapit.   Jean Wesley, our friend at Canaan
Christian School, told us it would take about 2 hours…needless to say three
hours later we arrived at the top. (Haitian time is worse than Dominican
time..lol)

I’m not going to lie, I am a little out of shape right now
and there were some tough moments, steep inclines, and narrow pathways on the
way up, but every step was worth it when I reached the top.  Lush palm trees and green foliage
traveled for miles in every direction, fresh springs poured out living water,
little Haitian boys and girls ran naked ashamed of nothing and peace flowed out
from the hot winter sun!  I tell
you, it seemed as if I had reached Eden before the fall of man!

I share our day with you because it reminds me of our walk
with Jesus and where we will one day be.
Becoming a Christian is not about going to heaven or hell, it is about
bringing heaven down to earth.  “On
earth as it is in heaven”   On
our way up we met Haitians, helped our sick sisters climb the hills, carried
each others packs, got into theological conversations, shared our lives with
one another and shut down our mouths and minds to listen to Gods creation.  You see, if we did not go through all
of this and climb the mountain for three hours, there would be no possible way
we could have reached what I now imagine heaven to be like.

Life is about the journey, it’s not about the
destination.  Jesus has work for us
to do, He has a plan for us to climb the mountain to understand Him and know
Him more!  Being a Christian,  I wait patiently and peacefully that
God has chosen me to share His love right where I am, to feel His embrace today
and to learn how to be more like Jesus in this moment.  I do wait eagerly for the day that
Christ returns, but I know He has more to be done before that day, I know He
has not reached the entirety of the nations yet, but that is not to say He
won’t reach them very soon, for He IS coming soon.

Followers of Christ and those of you who are not, I want to
challenge you today.  If you’re not
a follower, be bold and ask Jesus to change your heart, ask Him what your
purpose in bringing heaven to earth is?
Continue to ask Him and He will answer you in His timing, He wants to be
sought after too!  Believers, I
challenge you to not be heaven complacent.  Don’t sit back and feel content that your destination is
secure, Ask the Lord how you can help form Kingdom on earth!

Whether you believe it or not, we are not here to sip
Margaritas on the beach, make money to become rich, and retire early.  Those are blessings we receive in the
process, but we are ultimately here for the glory of God, to bring Kingdom to
earth, to share with others that God is REAL and ALIVE and He is working right
now!!!!!!

I love and miss you all so much.  I apologize for the lack of pictures this month, Internet is
just not ideal.  Thank you again
for your prayers and support; this is just as much your journey as it is
mine!  xoxoxoxxo
