There is nothing like looking over your life and seeing God change you into a new person,and you have nothing to do with it. These last couple months have been such a crazy adventure with the Lord. That is what happens when you let God lead.
Before, I had a pretty good life. I had tons of fun. I got in trouble. I helped alot of people. I hurt a lot of people. I got burned out. I loved God. I loved doing what I wanted. I made good decisions. I made stupid decisions. I fell down. I got back up. I shared God’s love with people. I let the world influence me. I trusted God a little, I trusted myself a lot. I did everything. I ran my life.
I did what I wanted and asked God to bless it.
84 days ago, that changed completely.
I know that it took me falling off a 3rd story balcony to change that.
What will God have to do to change you?
I’m not saying this to scare you or guilt trip you.
I’m not saying to show you how I’m changed and everything is good now.
I’m saying this to encourage you:
Life is better when God is leading.
I look back at the first 21 years of my life.
It was good life but it wasn’t full life.
We didn’t create the world,
so we don’t know how life was meant to be.
God does.
Living life led by God is fun, and how life is meant to be.
He calls us to obey Him; Not to take the fun out of life, but to bring the fun into life. A life with NO Regrets!!!
A life led by God is the best! It is hard, fun, painful at times, requires obedience, patience and humility. You are constantly loving and you are constantly fighting. But life has true meaning. You make an eternal difference and you do what you are created to do. I’m reminded how Paul explains how true disciples of God don’t have the easiest lives. “Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution”- 2 Timothy 3:12. but thank God that He is on our side giving us the desire and the power to do what’s right.
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” – Philippians 2:13
How amazing that we don’t have to sit around and hope our life has meaning or hope we do God’s will. God helps us!!
So now, I humbly come before you asking you to let God lead. I had to learn the hard way, and I don’t want that for you.
Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing
– I Kings 18:21
It’s simple but not easy- It comes down to sacrifice.
Follow God or Follow You.
Follow God or Follow You.
Can you give up what you want so you can allow God to lead?
A life not led by God is tiring and empty.
Let God show you the way.
I’m learning how to chose God,
each moment, each day.
It’s hard but it is the adventurous life we were meant to live!!
