Let me tell you a story about 7 beautiful young women who travelled to a small town called Sungai Petani, Malaysia…A brief venture into the daily lives of these women starts at about 7:00 every morning as we rise and meet in the foyer/living room at the house (the home of Pastor Francis and his wife Rebecca).
At this time we have our morning worship, prayer and devotional.  One of us leads each part every day…so we are constantly planning something to share with our group.
We eat an amazing breakfast/lunch/dinner cooked for us by Rebecca and Auntie Margaret (two of the most servant minded women I’ve ever met)                                                                                                                                           After that, we may go on a 14 mile prayer walk or take a drive around the city and pray over it or plan for a children’s Sunday school service that’s held on Friday morning (because here their days off are Friday and Saturday…kids go to school on Sunday just like any other day).
We may go to a children’s home and clean it up a bit since the woman who is running it has just recently taken over all responsibilities of running the place after her husband passed away.
Visiting a drug rehabilitation center and praying over the men who live there.
We might just take the morning to chill and plan for one of our evening services…which looks something like this:
Thursday night prayer meeting at Pastor Steven’s church.
Friday night service at Pastor Francis’s church.                                                   Saturday evening (Easter service).
Outreach in the jungle with a group of Indonesian men.
Youth meeting at another church…so much fun we didn’t want to leave!!!!!
House meetings at various houses where we give testimonies and a message.
Church meetings in Penang (an island about an hour away from SP).
                                                                                                                                                         YOUTH GROUP!!!!!

Needless to say, we are never lacking for opportunity here.  As we went on our prayer walks, our eyes couldn’t help but see the multitude of idols and altars, our ears hear the ringing of bells, our noses smell the incense burning…just the heaviness of all the idolotry in this country.  Very few are Christians.  So many desperately need to hear the name Jesus Christ.  So many gods are worshipped here that are dead…there was even a tree that was worshipped…I could go cut that thing down and their “god” would be destroyed!  Thankfully I serve a God who doesn’t need me to ring a bell, doesn’t need to have a little house that I go bow to at certain times of the day, doesn’t need to smell the icky sweet scent of incense.  My God hears my cry at any time, no matter what and MY GOD IS ALIVE!!!!!!!

There is such a heaviness over this country and I ask this…PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!  These people need Jesus.  They need hope.  They need to hear the truth about a living God who will never leave them or forsake them.  From these we have been ministering to could be a generation of youth who rise up to change the atmoshpere of this country…who change the direction of this government, of the beliefs here…they could just be the generation this country needs!!  We have to support them.  WE have to encourage them.  We have to let them know that they are not alone in this battle.  This country is dark…they could be the LIGHT.

We have two more weeks here in Malaysia.  We are moving from Sungai Petani to Bukit Mertajam (BM).  I have no idea what God has in store for us or these people.  I pray for big things.  I pray for a huge movement here.  I just pray…
