Some of you might be wondering what life on the race looks like. Yes, sometimes we get to go snorkeling in the carribbean, surfing or hiking volcanos, but most of the time it’s extremely normal everyday life. Well okay extremely normal might not be exactly the truth but you know what I mean. Here is the report of random Tuesday May the 12th:
6am – I’m rolling out of bed. Kathryn and Taylor are still sleeping.
Ich stehe auf. Kathryn und Taylor sind noch am schlafen.
6-7am – Quiet time and breakfast
Stille Zeit und Frühstück
7:15am – Leaving the House for a day of construction. Bus ride to our work site.
Wir verlassen das Haus für einen Tag voller Bauarbeiten. Busfahrt.
8:30am – Arriving at our construction site, surrounded by volcanos. We’re going to build a house.
Ankommen am Arbeitsplatz, umgeben von Vulkänen. Wir werden ein Haus bauen.
9am – Digging dirt and sweating.
Löcher graben und schwitzen.
10am – Coke break
Cola pause
11am – Still working. And dancing a little bit.
Immer noch am arbeiten. Manchmal tanzen wir ein bisschen.
11:30am – Lunch break. We ate more than just chips.
Mittagspause. Wir assen mehr als nur chips.
1pm – More digging, more dirt, more sweat.
Mehr graben, mehr dreck und mehr schweiss.
2:30pm – Our faces after a day of work. We were happier than we look. People laughed at us.
Unsere Gesichter nach dem Arbeitstag. Wir waren glücklicher als wir aussahen. Leute haben uns angelacht.
2:30pm – Busride back home. We were an attraction.
Busfahrt nach hause. Wir waren eine Attraktion.
3:30pm – After a shower some down time in my hammock. Listening to Coldplay and reading.
Nach einer Dusche ein bisschen ausruhen in der Hängematte mit Coldplay.
4pm – Starting to cook dinner with Katiebear.
Katiebear und ich kochen das Nachtessen.
5:30pm – Dinner time.
Znacht.
6:05pm – I got attacked and painted on.
Ich wurde attackiert und angemalt.
6:30pm – Team time also called Family time and Feedback on the balcony.
Team Zeit auch Familenzeit genannt und Feedback auf dem Balkon.
7:30pm – Devotional with our friends that live in the House for this week and help with construction.
Andacht mit unseren Freunden die diese Woche bei uns wohnen und bei den Bauarbeiten mithelfen.
9:08pm – Facetime with my funny squadleaders Ashley and Dani. They made me laugh.
Facetime mit meinen lustigen squadleaders Ashley and Dani. Sie haben mich zum lachen gebracht.
10pm – Hanging out and Storytime.
Zusammen Zeit verbringen und Geschichten erzählen.
11pm – Bedtime. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So, this is it. As you can see, extremely normal but still, everyday is different.
