That’s right…the title of my blog is called Lunchbox…and that is because that is the name of my new team! Yes…I said new team! This past debrief, we were switched around and recieved brand new brothers and sisters…well…I got to keep two of my previous ones! The leadership of AIM and The World Race, as well as our Squad Leader, Allison, and our Coaches, Gary and Lisa Black, have been seriously seeking the Lord’s guidance and had been in prayer over changes in our squad! They knew that they would need to find someone(s) to feel Allison’s spot as the squad leader(s) since she would be leaving us after Africa…and then they would need to fill the spot of the new squad leader and so on…and really felt like God was leading them to make big changes in our squad!
Now, we know that changes can be scary and they can cause a lot of anger, and fear, and other feelings like that…but changes can also cause growth…and that is really what we signed up for when joining the Race…We signed up to be changed by Christ…to grow closer to Him…and I know that I was ready to welcome (no matter how much it might hurt) anything that would allow me to grow closer with Him…to look more like Him…and to be used by Him! So, the leadership gave us a warning at our debrief in January that changes would be coming!
The month of February was amazing for me…I really took time to hear from the Lord about this whole situation and realized that this change was going to be good! He gave me peace about it and I heard Him tell me that more of myself was going to be revealed through the next family He placed me in! I was ready…and I am ready!
So…here we are! Changes have been made…a lot of healing between my last family….and a lot of sad goodbyes! I had to say goodbye to Braedon (a brother that helped teach me what a brother was supposed to look like), Cindy (a sister that loved us so much and was never afraid to be transparent), and Katie (a sister who can find fun in anything and lives out joy)…., oh…and of course our 7th team member, Allison (a sister with more passion for God than I have ever witnessed). I will miss them tremendously…and I do miss them! We will always be family and I think God for them!
Luckily, God blessed me with two of my teammates on this new team (family)! I got to keep Lindsay (a sister with so much faith in God), and Brandon (my brother who seeks after God with all of his heart and has grown so much). In my new family, God has blessed me with Brenda (she cracks me up…and we kind of think alike…very scary), Christy(sweet as pumpkin pie and is in love with God), Dan (a big little brother….he is full of the energy of God and is so pure and genuine), Sara (who speaks to God every moment she has….such a big heart for Him for such a small girl), and also Kyla (who is freaking awesome and so much fun…full of the love of Christ…she is also one of the new squad leaders). I love my new team and can’t wait to wreck the world for Christ with them!
Together, we make up Lunchbox! We bring the bread of life to all we encounter!
