Hello Everyone! And Happy Day-After-4th of July! I watched a big fireworks celebration in a grassy park area near the Mississippi River in good ole’ Memphis, TN with many of my fellow S.O.S. staffers. It was a great ending to such a beautiful day, although I did absolutely nothing! Here is my day in a nutshell: I woke up late, ate ice cream for lunch, watched a movie, walked halfway to a nearby park before being picked up to go to a 4th of July block party and then finding out that we were about 3 hours late, ate Bar-B-Que at Corky’s and was treated to Valet Parking while there, sat on a porch swing for about an hour and a half, spoke to some Swahili Refugees, then left to see the fireworks display on Mud Island….and that was about it for my day….oh, except for watching half of Aladdin before going to sleep…ha! All in all….it was a great and mostly uneventful day! Which is just what I needed after 4 weeks of camp! All of us staffers are enjoying our 2 day vacation! It’s nice! Camp starts again tomorrow!
I cannot believe that I have already gone through 4 weeks of camp and have 4 more weeks until I leave for training in Gainesville, GA! I’m ready to meet all of the other October Racers and find out who my team is! Oh, it will be a GLORIOUS week! I have already met one of the girls going on the October Race. Her name is Emily Rhea and she is from Memphis, TN. Turns out that we have a lot of friends in common and so one of our friends decided to introduce us! It is so exciting to know that there is someone else experiencing the same kind of craziness that I am….and she is just down the road! I don’t feel so alone anymore! It’s nice! I’m excited about getting to know her before leaving on our adventure!
Well anyways, I just wanted to give you all an update on where I stand! Praise Jesus, I now have $5, 655! Woohoo! And I have pretty much everything needed for me to survive! Thank you to everyone who has supported me prayerfully, financially, and with the products needed! Ya’ll are wonderful! I am still praying that God will provide the rest, which I have no doubt that He will! I feel completely called to “GO” for Him….I can’t wait to MAKE HIS NAME KNOWN! However, I did find out that we have to have a goal of $8,280 cash in our account before we can launch! And it is extremely important to have the full $13,800 before I leave b/c it will be completely difficult for me to try and support raise while I am running all over the world! I know this sounds like a lot of money, and it is, but if you feel in anyway called to support me either financially, prayerfully, or both, please consider doing so! I want to with one goal in mind….TO GLORIFY GOD IN ALL THAT I DO AND ALL THAT I SAY, WHEREVER I MAY GO! And thank you once again to all of you who have already supported me, and if you still feel called to support me, I would be much appreciative of it! Thank you all! Please continue to pray for me!
