Just one more month!
In one month I will be at the first day of training camp.
But let’s back up a bit, shall we?
Let’s back all the way up to the beginng of May, when I became COMPLETELY FUNDED! I repeat: completely funded! The way the God has answered prayer has completly blown me away. I specifically prayed for two things.
1) I prayed that God would work in people’s hearts before I even mentioned my trip, and that their hearts would be ready and willing to come along and support me before I even sent out a support letter. That happened over, and over, and over again.
2) I was sharing about my trip every chance that I took, and I prayed that opportunities to use my story would arise. That I would be able to encourage people, and I would be able to share Christ. That happened over, and over, and over again.
The Lord’s faithfulness and providence? Amazing.
Thank you so much if you were a part of completing this goal in any way, shape, or form! The love and support that you have shown has given me confidence and joy. God has clearly shown himself through you and your generosity!
Now let’s go foward a bit, just a few weeks. I graduated highschool.
I had been ready to graduate for a while. But no matter how ready I was, graduation happened so fast.
No matter if I was ready for it or not, I am now officially a part of the big bad adult world.
My first few months since graduating highschool have been something totally different than anything I have done before. I have spent my summer working at an inner city youth day camp, and living with our group of interns. It has been taxing, tiring, and a little terrifying. But it has been absolutly terrific.
Which brings me to right now. One more month.
And then training camp.
And then, the World Race.
I repeat, THE WORLD RACE!
And I can barely wait.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
1) Spend time in praise for God’s faithfuless. He never ceases to provide in wonderful ways, and it brings me to praise every day.
2) Pray for me as I prepare myself for these coming months. I need to prepare emotionally, as well as physically. In addition, I am still gathering the last of my gear.
3) Keep my squad mates in your prayers as well, the first deadline for fundraising is only a short ways away, and many of them still have a few thousand dollars to go. Pray that they will be able to meet their goal, and that they will have a God-given peace through out the rest of their fundraising process.
