Recently I have been thinking and overthinking about many things, much of them including fear of some sort. Fear is a strange thing, it sneaks up when you least expect it to. It can be anything from fear of people to fear of self or situations or places. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “for God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self control”. God does not give us fear, but rather power, love and self control, all of which oppose the fear that is within us. He does not want us to fear what the future holds, he wants us to live with the knowledge that we hold each of the three things mentioned above.
This verse has been a constant source of reassurance for me this past week and I hope that if you fear something, that you too can read this verse and feel encouraged by it.
