What got me to this point? How did I end up here, in the Dominican Republic on a journey that will last 9 months and will take me to 5 countries? Who pushed me to make my own decisions and never let anyone
get in the way of that? My momma. My mom is probably currently sitting at work reading this, maybe she’s at home in the morning after a long night at work, but I can almost guarantee you she’s already crying. She is my best friend, the one who gave me life,
the one who has told me multiple times to NEVER give up on my dreams. She had a hard time letting me go but if we’re going to be honest, it might’ve been harder for me to leave her. If I could do anything right now it would be a grocery store run with my momma,
even though she always complains about how I "always add at least $20" to her cart. I could go on and on about how much I miss her, but the point of this blog is to share the ways that she has affected my life. Those ways are innumerable but overall she has
shaped me into the woman I am today. Without her I would not be on the World Race, without her who really knows where I would be. She has supported me in all that I do and has loved me since before I was born. She forces me to think outside of the box and
has grown me in many different ways. She has provided for me over the past 19 years and will probably continue to do so until we part ways. She is incredible. She is lovely. She is the best. So here’s to you, momma. I love you, I miss you and I am so incredibly
grateful for you.
Love,
your baby girl
