Prague…
Coming into a city that I didn’t really know much
about…besides the people telling me that it is beautiful.
Well coming in I must say that was not my first impression.
May it be the looong train ride, or the taxi drivers ripping us off. I didn’t
think was a beautiful place. To me it was more of just another city. (Which I
am realizing how much I am not the biggest fan of the city).
Anyways we meet our contacts and are able to find more out
about the background of where we will be for the next couple weeks. We are
going to be working with an IHOP (International House of Prayer), which we all
were really excited about. We went to the land that was donated to the building
and prayed over it. There are a lot of details that go into building on this land,
so they have had the land for years but still have yet to dig a spot in the
land. It is coming.
So in the mean time we were able to join them in another
building that they worship in. Finding out that Czech Republic is one of the
top atheistic places in the world, was
shocking. Hearing how this place used to
be a lot Christian country, and now has taken a 180. The churches are now
places that people come and see, the monument are things that people just look
at and don’t really know the details behind them. There is so much history
here, but since they have been hurt so much in the past it is hard for them to
trust.
It has been amazing working with our contacts. The heart for
the people here, the way they pray for them at every meeting. The way they reach
out to them. They way they are building community in a new way. Most people
just stay within the family and don’t trust much outside. They say that they have an outer wall that is hard to get over but when a person enters, you are in for life. Can you imagine what that does to worship when they let God in?
Walls are being broken.
Love is restoring the broken.
Their heart of worship is real. We have been able to play in
the worship band. We have been able to be lead by the spirit and not recite a
song that we know. To have the freedom to sing songs that are on our hearts. It
has been stretching in ways but it has been good. Everyone in the room moves to the sound of FREEDOM. It is It is the people that change me, the effect me. They all have shown me something new.
Love is restoring us all.
We are going deeper.
It is indescribable.
