When reading Matthew 5:9-13 today I was hit really hard with this feeling. A feeling of such an overwhelming power in these verses and a hurt.

A
hurt because these verses are the Lord’s prayer, something that is said
all over the world multiple times a day. And when I think about times
when it is said we just say it…monotone, standing still, no emotion,
it has become routine.

HELLO! WAKE UP! THIS IS THE LORD’S PRAYER!!

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.”

“Meaning God would be treated with the highest honor and set apart as HOLY.” Did you even realize what that meant, I didn’t until this moment because I never sought the.

Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on EARTH as it is in HEAVEN.”

“We are called to pray and work for the continual advance of God’s
Kingdom on earth, the reigning presence of Christ in his body, THE CHURCH – so that they increasingly reflect his love, obey his laws, honor him, do good for all people, and proclaim the good news of the kingdom.”
“God’s will – God’s “revealed will” which involves conduct that is
pleasing to him that is revealed in Scripture. Just as God’s will is
perfectly experienced in heaven, Jesus prays that it will be experienced ON EARTH.” That means here, you know, where we live.

“Give us this our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

We will be supplied with what we need, not more and not less, just simply what we need. This is a plea for forgiveness. As we forgive others, he will forgive us. Is your heart in the right place when praying this? I know that I used to say this before in bed with Grandma and I had no idea
what I was praying, obviously. So it is not bad that we are praying
this all over the world but what if everyone that prayed this had their
heart in the right place. What would that look like?
“This is a prayer for the restoration of personal fellowship with God
when fellowship has been hindered by sin. Those who have received such
forgiveness are so moved with gratitude toward God that they also
eagerly forgive those who are debtors to them.”

“And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.”

We are not perfect, we all struggle, WE ARE HUMAN! But we are offered a life of so much more greatness, something we can’t even fathom or explain. Seems crazy and maybe it is, but it is REAL.
It is tangible. “This addresses the disciples’ battle with sin and
evil. In fact, the trials and hardships will inevitably come to
believers’ lives, and believers should “count it all joy” when trials
come, for they are strengthened by them. Believers should never pray to
be brought into such situations but should pray to be delivered from
them, for hardship and temptation make obedience more difficult and
will sometimes result in sin…The best protection from sin and temptation is to turn to God and to depend on his direction. “For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

So I encourage you to step out and seek His word and what he truly desires for our lives, for your life, because any person can tell you all they want but when you hear it and feel that love from Him it is so much greater. No person can explain His love better than Him alone.

Live in the Love.
